Engineer Manager Title: Engineering Manger Department:
Engineering Location: OSS Headquarters in Escondido, CA SUMMARY An
engineering manager oversees engineering projects and teams within
an organization. Their role encompasses a combination of technical
expertise, leadership, and management skills. DUTIES AND
RESPONSIBILITIES --- Manage a team of engineers to deliver high
quality products that include all facets of software, systems,
electrical, and mechanical engineering. --- Guide teams in
resolving technical problems and encouraging best practices. ---
Help solve hard problems and find ways to mitigate them. --- Buy
supplies to progress R&D or other customer needs. --- Be both a
technical and managerial leader, establish team objectives and
ensure high quality deliverables. --- Coordinate efforts from
various engineering specialties like hardware, software, and
manufacturing, to collectively work towards identifying and
resolving issues in the best way. --- A deep understanding in
working with high-speed designs involving design, fabrication, and
assembly of electrical designs. --- Manage vendor relationships.
--- Develop good partner relationships or have some already. ---
Understanding of the environmental, safety and EMI certifications
needed in new products and derivative products. --- Coordinate
cross functional development with product and manufacturing teams.
--- Establish team objectives for business units with virtual
desktop requirements and determine how to use resources to meet
schedules and goals. --- Drive schedule execution to help the
program and project managers. --- Help create realistic schedules
and expectations with engineers and program members for customers.
--- Act as a mentor/advisor to subordinates to deliver on schedules
and/or resolve technical problems. --- Recommend changes to
policies and establish procedures that affect immediate
organization. --- Connect with senior management for team vision
and development progress. --- Groom future engineering leaders and
mentor junior engineers/interns. --- Continuously review and
identify improvement opportunities in established processes,
infrastructure, and practices to ensure the teams are executing in
the most efficient and transparent manner. REQUIREMENTS
- Must have bachelor's in computer science and engineering or
electrical engineering degree.
- Strong knowledge of a multi-functional engineering design
organization with the ability to accurately create, assess, and
communicate a work breakdown structure for projects and implement a
complex staffing plan.
- Experience with assessing risks and opportunities in the entire
design and test process and quantify these risks to the products
and program team.
- Proven track record of owning the staffing plan and schedule
while driving funded projects and programs to completion on time
and on budget. COMPETENCIES

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS Location: Escondido, CA Salary Range:
$150,000 to $160,000 The range is specifically for those potential
hires who will work in the CA location. Any offered salary is
determined based on relevant factors such as applicant's skills,
performance, job responsibilities, prior relevant experience,
certain degrees and certifications and market considerations. In
